A pedestrian crosswalk added at the intersection of Prospect Pl & Pleasant Pl & protected Multi-Modal Transportation Lanes to help connect the Bridge to Bay Trail.
The streets ought to be for everyone, whether young or old, motorist or bicyclist, walker or wheelchair user, bus rider or shopkeeper. But too many of our streets are designed only for speeding cars, lowest response times or worse, creeping traffic jams.
The Huron Lightship Neighborhood values the social and economic vibrancy that comes from truly walkable communities, this is why We urge the mayor, council, public works and planning department at the city to work towards making more complete streets. Streets that are designed to connect the community by creating a safe, comfortable, integrated transportation network for all users, regardless of age, ability, income, ethnicity, or mode of transportation.
Prospect Pl currently has 12ft lanes which are suitable lane sizes for our Interstates according to MDOT
A natural continuation of the sidewalk infrastructure, for equitable park access for folks of all abilities
A conceptual rendering of Crosswalks at the existing intersection of Pleasant Pl & Prospect Pl 300ft of lead way if its posted 25mph
